Children’s Mobile Response & Stabilization Services (MRSS) – MRSS are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to help children and youth who are experiencing emotional or behavioral crises. The services are designed to defuse an immediate crisis, keep children and their families safe, and maintain the children in their own homes or current living situation (such as a foster home, treatment home or group home) in the community. Essex County CIACC (Children’s Inter-Agency Coordinating Council) – The Essex County C.I.A.C.C. (pronounced like kayak or kai-yak) serves as a mechanism to provide the County with a multidisciplinary forum to review and discuss the system of services for children with special social, emotional and behavioral challenges through a partnership of parents, consumers, government, community-based organizations, and service providers.
PerformCare of New Jersey – PerformCare is the Contracted System Administrator (CSA) for the New Jersey Children’s System of Care (CSOC), available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, serving as the single point of entry for all children, adolescents and young adults (up to age 21) who are in need of behavioral health, developmental and intellectual disability, or substance use treatment services. NJ Children’s System of Care (CSOC) – Children’s System of Care, a division of NJ’s Department of Children and Families, serves children and adolescents with emotional and behavioral health care challenges and their families; children with developmental and intellectual disabilities and their families; and, children with substance use challenges and their families. Division of Child Protection and Permanency (DCPP) – Child Protection and Permanency is New Jersey’s child protection and child welfare agency within the New Jersey Department of Children and Families. Its mission is to ensure the safety, permanency, and well-being of children and support families. CP&P is responsible for investigating allegations of child abuse and neglect and, if necessary, arranging for the child’s protection and the family’s treatment. The Child Abuse Hotline (State Central Registry) receives reports of child abuse and neglect 24-hours a day, 7-days a week. In New Jersey, any person having reasonable cause to believe that a child has been subjected to abuse or acts of abuse should immediately report this information to the State Central Registry (SCR). If the child is in immediate danger, call 911 as well as 1-877 NJ ABUSE (1-877-652-2873).
